METU and METU Technopolis apply The Business Angels concept, which has been developed and used in the world as a solution to the “early stage financial problems”, for the first time in Turkey. “METUTECH-BAN” (Association for Business Angels Network established by METUTECH) which has been founded for this purpose brings together technology investors as an association and aims to introduce the technology-based entrepreneurs with the investor business angels who are members of the network.

What does METUTECH-BAN do?

METUTECH-BAN provides an institutional structure to which entrepreneurs can apply for the technical and economic evaluation of their ideas and projects and provides financial resources for the funding of the ideas or projects that promise to be successful. METUTECH-BAN provides a significant contribution to the development and realization of new business ideas. In other words, it serves to prevent brain migration and is instrumental in the creation of employment opportunities.

Having the objective of increasing the number of investor business angels, METUTECH-BAN also serves to increase the competitiveness of the investment market with new initiatives. This also increases the chances of success for the Turkish entrepreneurs and opens the way for individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit and contributes to the country’s employment and economy.
